People in Ciego de Avila carry indelible traces in their memories, when remembering the glorious life of our commander in chief as he passed through our province.

We have the enormous privilege of his presence, through visits to sugar mills, hospitals, schools... always with the frank,affable,  and pleasant conversation with doctors, teachers, artists, athletes, art instructors, social workers, builders, when interacting with the people in difficult moments during the occurance of hurricanes and accidents, in the glorious moments after fulfilling the tasks with his coherent speeches and committed with the ideas of his compatriots.

The history includes 36 visits, from January 5, 1959, with the crossing of the caravan of freedom, and on July 26, 2002 the last meeting in the avilenian territory, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the assaults of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes garrisons. 

Pretending to measure Fidel's dimentions is impossible, as Che said:

…¨ Fidel has as no one the quality of having all possible moral authorities to request any sacrifice …¨

That is why the eternal tribute to Fidel. Hence the unavoidable commitment to honor him in our struggles for his ideas of justice because:
