
That Martí lives is a certainty that comes alive every January, while all of Cuba follows in the footsteps of those young people who on the centenary of his birth did not want to let their ideas die and staged a March of the Torches that, since then, has been evoked and tribute for the most universal of the children of this earth.
This January 27 will be no different in Ciego de Ávila and the Apostle will walk alongside the generations who, torch in hand, will continue giving birth to his example. This was specified to Invasor by Nailyn Machado Ávila, first secretary of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) in the province, who also explained that, on this occasion, the traditional march is expected to start at eight at night from the intersection from Máximo Gómez and Simón Reyes streets, in the main city, where, starting at 7:30 pm, students, workers and the people in general will gather.
Once the walk in the Camilo Cienfuegos square is over, he said, the Máximo Gómez square will host a camp in which a representation of the ninth grade students, the Federation of High School Students, the University Student Federation and the Outstanding young people from different sectors, who will be joined by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), the Martí Youth Movement and the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade, with varied cultural and recreational proposals, which will last until 12 am, to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the birth of José Martí.
For their part, on Saturday the 28th, the little ones will be the protagonists of the tribute, when, starting at 7:30 am, the costumes of the characters from The Golden Age take Calle Independencia, during the Martí parade that every year It becomes a great party for boys, girls, parents and teachers.
Once this is finished, the infants and their families will be able to enjoy the activities that will be held at the Martí Park and the Zoological Park Complex, and that will have the intervention of Inder, Culture, the AHS and the Martí Youth Movement.
