This Friday, more than 25 000 Ciego de Ávila`s students, aged between 11 and 18, will start vaccination with the immunogenic Soberana 02, according to Yipsi González Borroto, head of the Provincial Immunization Program.
The inoculation in this second group of students, considered the most complex, will be carried out with two doses of Soberana 02 and a booster with Soberana Plus, following the same scheme as the adults, on days 1, 28 and 56.
Children disengaged from studies, due to illness, must go to the vaccination centers, except those who are bedridden and disabled by other diseases, who will receive the vaccine at home, after coordination with the medical teams.
González Borroto specified that adolescents between the ages of 17 and 18, included in the first group, are in terminal grades and must join face-to-face classes from the months of October and November, which is why it was decided to apply Abdala to them, which has a shorter vaccination cycle (28 days).
Soberana 02, with a more extensive scheme (56 days) and also based on the schedule of the Ministry of Education, will be applied to students who do not join the classrooms until the next school year, he stressed, given the concerns expressed by the population.
For the immunization of pediatric patients of school age, 180 vaccinations distributed throughout the province are functioning in the different health areas, where it is carried out according to the enrollment of the educational centers.
In cases of coincidence with the inoculation of the third dose of Abdala in adults, the processes should not be mixed, therefore, schoolchildren will receive the immunogenic medication in the morning and adults from 1:00 pm, the person in charge of the Provincial Immunization Program clarified.
As part of the school vaccination process, more than 70 000 students of different teachings will be immunized in the province of Ciego de Ávila, according to data from the Provincial Health Directorate.
