    Vice-president of the Council of Ministers visits Ciego de Ávila`s communities

    This Sunday, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, vice president of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, continued the cycle of visits to places of social and economic interest in Ciego de Ávila and vulnerable areas, together with the National Working Group to fight against Covid- 19.

    Tapia Fonseca, accompanied by Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and the highest political and government authorities in the province, began the journey through Los Angeles district of the Popular Council (CP) Ángel Alfredo Pérez in the south of the city, whose population exceeds 17 thousand inhabitants.

    In the place, he confirmed the progress of the works carried out in the river network to improve the water supply of the residents. While he spoke with directors of the polyclinic of the place where Carmen Rosa Cordero, president of the CP, explained the characteristics of the former inn, converted into one of the most comfortable health facilities in the municipality.

    Likewise, Nairobi Terry, delegate of that district, documented the leader about the operation and sale of the products of the State Agricultural Market "La Habichuela", as well as the gastronomic unit El Almendro, where in dialogue with Melvis Méndez Toledo, administrator of the establishment, Tapia suggested applying new forms of economic management that expand and benefit sales operations.

    Besides, there was a stimulating exchange with the residents of the place, who raised concerns that persist in the community related to housing issues, achieving a greater amount in social assistance due to the number of cohabitants in the family and the need to be more dynamic in administrative procedures dictated by the government.

    Later, Tapia Fonseca moved to La Clementina, a rural town in the municipality of Baraguá, where its inhabitants in a pleasant encounter, left satisfied raised concerns whose solution will improve their life status, among them the recently concluded office of the Doctor and Nurse of the family.

    At the end of the program, the official was interested in the constructive progress of La Ceiba local development project, which encompasses all branches of fruit industrialization, located in areas of La Cuba in the municipality of Baraguá.

    Known as the Gorgoya Family Project, the investment of this mini-industry exceeds 580 000 dollars in equipment and more than 2 000 000 pesos in national currency, destined to the construction of the property whose completion date is in November of the current year.
