The Provincial Assembly's functions are executed with the help of 5 Permanent Working Commissions composed of 74 delegates in 58 Popular Councils located in the 10th municipalities, the Administration Council, as well as with the help of the initiatives and the participation of the whole population in coordination with mass and social organizations.

For the work to be done by the commissions, the board of the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power exchanges with their boards.

The permanent commissions, created by the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power, have the following functions:

To assist the Assembly in the execution of its activities and in executing the supervision of the entities that belong to its territory;
To assist the Assembly in the control of the compliance of the laws and other legal dispositions in force by the entities of provincial subordination and by those of other levels of subordination that belong to its territory;
To get necessary information of the enterprises and budgeted entities of provincial subordination and of other levels of subordination that belong to its territory, and to this aim, they may do direct supervisions and cite their officials for appointments;
To do studies and design projects aiming at improving production, services; the use of human, material and financing resources; or the cultural, social and economic life of the territory, which are submitted to the president of the Provincial Assembly or the Assembly itself if it is deemed;
To issue opinions about the report presented in the Assembly;
To assist in the control of the accomplishment of the decisions of the Assembly and assess the effectiveness of the matters agreed;
To report the Assembly about the work executed if it is deemed by the Assembly or its President;

Program of Comprehensive Attention for the Improvement of the People´s Power.

The Program of Comprehensive Attention for the Improvement of the People´s Power has seven prioritized objectives which were implemented in all the management levels, from the board of directors of the administrative entities, popular councils to the Provincial and Municipal Administration Councils and their corresponding Assemblies. .

This implementation consists in planning a group of specific actions that may allow the increase of the organic functioning levels of the People´s Power as well as the quality and effectiveness of production and services of the respective entities.

This aspect is analyzed in the working sessions of each board of direction in their different levels.

Process of the delegate´s account to electors.

The province has carried out the preparation of its delegates (At provincial and municipal levels) to execute the First Process of Delegate´s Account to electors in the current term.

Ciego de Ávila province has ten municipalities where the Municipal Assemblies of the People´s Power were constituted.

The province has 27 deputies to the National Assembly of the Popular Power, supreme organ of the Cuban State, also elected directly by the people in the recent general elections. 14 of them are women, for 51.8%.

The 76 delegates that integrate the Popular Power Assembly were selected directly by the people in the context of the general elections of the organs of the Popular Power on March 15, 2018. On the 25 of the same month it was established the Assembly for its XII mandate of five years of duration.

The Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power of Ciego de Ávila, constitutes on the politic-administrative demarcation wich limits are set by the law, is the higher local organ of the State's Power, and, consecuently, it is vested to the higher authority for testing of the state functions in it's demarcation and for it, inside of it's competence framework, and adjusting to the lay, excercises goberment.

Ciego de Ávila, pineapple land, located in the center of the island, counts on a ascendant population to 435,170 inhabitans, of wich 345,798 are electors (offered date by the Provincial Electoral Comision).

The 76 delegates that integrate the Provincial Assembly of the Popular Power were directly chosen by the people on the general election's context of the Popular Power's organs on March eleventh, 2018 and on twenty five of the own month was constituted the Assembly for it's XII commandment of five years of permanence, in wich were chosen as Presidente Raúl Victorio Pérez Carménate, Debbie López Sánchez, as Vice president, and Isabel María Eng Pernas, designed secretary of the same one.
