The Provincial Assembly's functions are executed with the help of 5 Permanent Working Commissions composed of 74 delegates in 58 Popular Councils located in the 10th municipalities, the Administration Council, as well as with the help of the initiatives and the participation of the whole population in coordination with mass and social organizations.
For the work to be done by the commissions, the board of the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power exchanges with their boards.
The permanent commissions, created by the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power, have the following functions:
- To assist the Assembly in the execution of its activities and in executing the supervision of the entities that belong to its territory;
- To assist the Assembly in the control of the compliance of the laws and other legal dispositions in force by the entities of provincial subordination and by those of other levels of subordination that belong to its territory;
- To get necessary information of the enterprises and budgeted entities of provincial subordination and of other levels of subordination that belong to its territory, and to this aim, they may do direct supervisions and cite their officials for appointments;
- To do studies and design projects aiming at improving production, services; the use of human, material and financing resources; or the cultural, social and economic life of the territory, which are submitted to the president of the Provincial Assembly or the Assembly itself if it is deemed;
- To issue opinions about the report presented in the Assembly;
- To assist in the control of the accomplishment of the decisions of the Assembly and assess the effectiveness of the matters agreed;
- To report the Assembly about the work executed if it is deemed by the Assembly or its President;

Program of Comprehensive Attention for the Improvement of the People´s Power.
The Program of Comprehensive Attention for the Improvement of the People´s Power has seven prioritized objectives which were implemented in all the management levels, from the board of directors of the administrative entities, popular councils to the Provincial and Municipal Administration Councils and their corresponding Assemblies. .
This implementation consists in planning a group of specific actions that may allow the increase of the organic functioning levels of the People´s Power as well as the quality and effectiveness of production and services of the respective entities.
This aspect is analyzed in the working sessions of each board of direction in their different levels.
Process of the delegate´s account to electors.
The province has carried out the preparation of its delegates (At provincial and municipal levels) to execute the First Process of Delegate´s Account to electors in the current term.
Municipal Assembly of the People´s Power
Ciego de Ávila province has ten municipalities where the Municipal Assemblies of the People´s Power were constituted.
